Misty Morning

Posted by & filed under Blog.

Last weekend still saw no sign of spring with stubborn early morning mist on the coast. I headed out on The Anglesey Coastal path at around 7.30 a.m, the fog was thick in places. Everywhere was silent – you could have literally heard a pin drop, there was a very special, peaceful atmosphere. Rather than… Read more »

I have decided to take the plunge and have a go at producing some video using the Kowa MFT lenses. They have some great features that suit video production extremely well – full manual aperture and focus control and also a useful d-click feature on the aperture ring to allow for silky smooth aperture control…. The finer details

Bit of  a change of subject matter for me this weekend. With the weather not being great, we decided to spend a couple of hours at a local butterfly farm. I decided to use the Kowa 25mm f1.8 lens for this trip out. I really enjoyed using the Kowa 25mm lens, the shallow depth of… Read more »

As a Kowa ambassador, it was a great privilege to spend some time with the Kowa team down in London at the Broadcasting and Video Expo 2015 (BVE). Not only are the Kowa MFT lenses built for conventional photography, they are also designed for the Videographer – with unique features like a choice of aperture… Read more »

Different perspectives

A bright sunny morning greeted me with wonderful cloud formations. I drove over from the West Coast where we are based, over to the East coast of Anglesey to visit Capel Lligwy (sometimes referred to as Hen Gapel Lligwy) a ruined chapel near Rhos Lligwy in Anglesey, north Wales, dating back to the first half… Read more »

Tranquil seas

My first trip back to Anglesey since the start of the new year was rewarded with beautiful still conditions, crisp air and bright sunshine. Being out in the open air and absorbing the light of Anglesey was just what I needed after weeks of grey clouds and rain in the city. Sunset was 5.30pm so… Read more »

A still December…

This weekend, my main mission was to avoid Black Friday and the Cyber Sales. What better place to spend the weekend than on Anglesey! Rather than the hustle and bustle of the pre-Christmas shopping rush, we opted to spend our time at our little retreat on the stunning North West rugged coastline of North Wales. The weekend… Read more »

Roach End Barn

I visited a local area this evening – around 15 miles away are the Roaches, a prominent rocky formation in the peak district. It’s an area with dramatic rock formations that rise to over 500m resulting in stunning views. It’s a place that I really should visit more often, it’s only a half hour drive away… Read more »

A walk to Carmel Head

A bracing walk along the northern rocky coastline of Anglesey during October/November may just result in superb views of Grey Seal and their newly born pups. We set off from Cemlyn Bay in cloudy conditions and strong coastal winds. It’s a superb stretch of the Anglesey coastal path with rugged dramatic coastline and farmland, the… Read more »

Up in the mountains

Wet and windy was probably the most accurate way to describe the weather on this particular outing. We headed to the North Wales mainland, to the heart of Snowdonia. A popular village for the walkers, Betws Y coed always looks particularly beautiful at this time of year. I wanted to get some long exposure water… Read more »
